I am a fully qualified English teacher with over 20 years experience teaching native Brits and foreigners. I am looking to emigrate to Hungary and am trying to learn Hungarian but find it difficult. I am working through some grammar books but find myself with a number of unanswered questions that I would like help with from somebody in the know. I also need help with pronunciation and, currently, word endings. I'm not very good at putting sentences together - mostly due to lack of practice and knowledge.
So far I have learnt how to state the weather, count, order food and drink in a restaurant... but I haven't learnt very well and don't even know some very necessary things.
I just seem to have lists of vocabulary (for example places, vegetables, clothing, transport) that I can't do much with.
In our first exchange, I'd like to ask a number of questions I'll compile, and read a children's book aloud to you so you can help me with pronunciation, meaning, and vocab.
In exchange, since I am a qualified teacher, I can answer any/all of your grammar questions and help with anything else English-based you'd like help with.
As I get more experience, I will be able to have conversations but unfortunately you will find me hard work at first and very limited. Bocsanat!
My hobbies are dancing, reading, dogs, walkies, learning Hungarian and learning about Hungary, planning a holiday to Hungary, researching the logistics of emigration including taxes and housing.
