I work in education and am also a freelance writer. However, I have recently become fascinated by language study and wish to improve my language knowledge via this site.
If possible I would like to start through writing (texting,emails) while i build my vocabulary and grammar ......and my confidence! I admit, I am a wee bit shy when it comes to speaking until I build up my knowledge!

Primarily learning Japanese at the moment. Have already learned German and a year of Chinese. Having spent a while hitchhiking around the world, I've picked up lots of minor elements used by various languages & dialects, but despite my interest in linguistics, I was more focused on learning about cultural aspects & anthropological aspects.
Hobbies like blacksmithing, martial arts, tech, linguistics, and whatever else my ADHD is drawn to create a highly diverse & frequently expanding interest range. Main takeaway is that I'm pretty good at getting along with/Talking about most things.
Won't say I'm someone with any notable academically certified knowledge level, but can say that throughout my travels & time spent worldwide, I was never presented a situation where I was unable to form connections or learn cultural or more personal traditions, even without verbal or "traditional" communication methods.

45 year old guy moved back to Belfast from London. I love languages, travel, culture, film, politics, fitness, medicine, books. I'm sure we'll have lots to talk about. I'm easy going and open minded. Partnered/married. Ultimately, I think I may want to work abroad again so need to get more fluent in conversational languages at least. French: conversational and want to get to the next level.
