I am a retired man (61) and earn money by trading and investing in stocks and commodities.
I studied several languages--French, Spanish, German, Greek--many years ago, but unfortunately, have forgotten most of them because of not using them.
My strongest interests and hobbies are reading and listening to and playing (piano) classical music. I also like to watch Youtube videos about life and people's experiences traveling to other countries.
I have about 9 years of university education at 6 different colleges and universities. I have undergraduate and graduate degrees in economics and finance, and also studied law. My understanding of English, including writing, vocabulary, and grammar, is at a very high level.
I have some knowledge of Russian--perhaps the equivalent of one year, or a little less, of university study--and would like to improve it.

Hello, my name is Solomon, I'm 21 years old, currently living in Philadelphia, US, and my mother-tongue(s) are English and Georgian. I've been studying Russian for nearly 2-3 years now and although I'm somewhat confident in my knowledge and understanding of the language, I still doubt my confidence in serious conversation and formulation of sentences (i.e. my grammar). I greatly admire, if not adore, Russian/East Slavic language, culture, and history, and am generally passionate about the language its speakers. I want to develop my fluency, to the extent of being able to discuss serious/detailed topics and sounding like a serious speaker.

Мои родные языки — английский и грузинский, однако я лучше владею английским, потому что вырос в США, хотя позже переехал в Грузию. Я уже 2–3 года изучаю русский язык, и хотя я довольно уверен в своих знаниях и понимании языка, я всё-таки сомневаюсь в своей способности участвовать в серьёзных разговорах и формулировать сложные предложения (то есть в своей грамматике). Я очень люблю, если не сказать «обожаю», русский и вообще восточнославянские языки, культуру, историю и в целом увлечён языком и его носителями. Я хочу свободно владеть русским языком — в той мере, чтобы можно было обсуждать серьёзные и подробные темы и звучать как уверенный и грамотный носитель языка.
Впрочем, не позволяйте моему тексту вас обмануть — я не настолько грамотен, как может показаться по этому сообщению. Просто я долго над ним работал, чтобы как можно лучше себя представить.

As far as reading goes, I love great literature, but I also love non-fiction - memoirs are a favorite, as well as books on psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, sociology, and health. My taste in music is quite eclectic, and I have many Ukrainian favorites! I love yoga and long 'urban hikes', as well as hikes in pretty nature spots, and walks and dips in the beautiful American River.

Hello!
After a long career as an economist, I'm easing into a new career as a part-time English teacher. I'm especially interested in helping students or working professionals with pronunciation, business English, and English for academic purposes (e.g., preparing for study abroad, presenting at conferences, reading academic texts, etc.). I'm also curious about Japanese (I only know half of hiragana and maybe 50 words) and Korean (I've learned Hangul and know maybe 200 words, zero grammar).
Actually, I was already an English teacher for two years long ago (1988-90) and now I'm going back where I started. I have a BA in English Lit and two graduate degrees in natural resource economics, so I'm happy to discuss your academic ambitions if you have any. Over the years, I've studied Latin, German, Bahasa Indonesia, and Spanish, but I still have a lot to learn about all of these.
