Hello, my name is Jon! I live in Philadelphia and work with music/events as an audio engineer and event technician. I have taken language courses on-and-off throughout my education in high school and college (French, Spanish, Russian) but never stuck with them very long after. I am mostly curious about learning Chinese Mandarin or for picking up one of the other 3 languages I've learned again! Since I already have a degree, going back to school to learn a language doesn't seem feasible right now, so I'm looking for alternative ways to learn!
I have an undergraduate degree in MIS/IT and a minor in English!
For hobbies, I enjoy writing, reading, making music, listening to music (especially live performances, big jazz fan), photography, and exploring new places and meeting new people.

I'm Rylee Carter, a chubby/fat 29-year-old Black American from Pennsylvania. Currently working Thursdays to Sundays. So I'm free Monday to Wednesday. I want to learn quite a few languages, but currently concentrating on Korean and Japanese.
Some of my hobbies are listening to music, reading, drawing, writing, playing video games, studying languages, etc.

I can read and write Korean at a level of probably a toddler now. But sadly, my Korean speaking and listening abilities are nonexistent.

As for Japanese, I know Hiragana, some Katakana, and a few random words. That sums up my Japanese ability. So if I could find someone patient to teach me Japanese, that'd be great.
And for Thai and Spanish, I'm literally just starting to learn it. So, at the moment I know absolutely nothing in Thai and Spanish. Not even the alphabet.

I dance salsa, rueda de casino, and some American folkdances.
I play the piano and clarinet, and sing. I host music parties at my apartment.
I swim, bike, and run for exercise.
I organize conversation groups for Spanish, English, Portuguese, and Italian.
I speak Spanish and English fluently, and Portuguese and Italian well.
I am casually studying Latin to understand the etymology of words in the languages I speak.

I lived in China for three and a half years teaching English. I have been studying Mandarin through immersion, tutoring, and self-study for closer to eight.
Originally, I wanted to study Japanese, but I ended up on a different road. Now, I'm wondering which road I really ought to be taking, in this regard and others.
I used to love to read, to write, to meditate, to run and bike and canoe and practice kickboxing. I used to love to travel.
Now, I'm lost at this crossroad as well. I hope to rediscover who I am and what I'm about.
