I'm Sam from UK 🇬🇧 and English is my native tongue. I'm Interested in current affairs, politics, travelling and food! I am considering working in Bangkok and would like to practice Thai conversational language with a Thai native speaker. I'm just a beginner so please be patient!. I've been to Thailand on several occasions and really would just like to start getting a basic understanding of the Thai language and all of its nuances. The goal would be to hold a basic converstion within 6 months. If that is something you can help with then I would be more than happy to help you with your English conversation by way of exchange. Hello Language.Exchange Community!
I am Edward, a university student, currently living in Oxford. I have had a keen interest in foreign cultures and languages but due to various reasons I didn't get the chance to actually learn a foreign language. Growing up in the 21st century, I was acclimated to internet culture and developed an interest in Japanese pop-culture, especially video games and anime/manga. Hence, when during this pandemic, I was presented with the time and opportunity to actually double down and pursue my dream of learning a foreign language, I opted for learning Japanese.
I have been self-studying for a couple of months now, and I can read some newspaper and manga at a comfortable pace. However, I would like to improve my skills even further and get to know various Japanese people and learn more about the intricacies, delicacies, and mysterious of their culture. I am currently only looking for textual exchange and would really prefer if you have similar interests as mine, otherwise it might be awkward, as we might find no mutual topics of discussion. My hobbies are reading books (primarily western) and manga, watching movies, anime and Netflix series, and of course, playing tons of video games. I also travelled a lot before the pandemic and would like to one day visit all the prefectures of Japan, once everything settles down.

僕はエドワードです。今オクスフォードで住んでます。オクスフォードの大学の学生です。子供の頃から外国の文化や言葉に趣味があるが、暇の時間がないので、外国語の練習を始めるのができません。日本のアニメや漫画や映画やゲームが大好きなので、今ころ時間があるから、日本語の勉強を始まりました。
数ヶ月前から自分で勉強を始まったから、今少年漫画や新聞を読むができるけど、まだ上手じゃないと思います。もっと上手に成るために、日本人と話したいです。日本人の友達を作ったいです。その後、日本人から日本のことを教えてくれたいつもりです。アニメや映画やドラマを見たり、本を読んだり、ゲームをしたりするのが僕の趣味です。旅も好きだけど、今旅するのがちょっと難しいね。同じ趣味の皆さんと友達に成りたいです。一生懸命頑張りましょう！
